The Sober Show, which is a team I’m part of, performed at Billboard, which is a show at the WGIS theater, which I co-own. Amanda, Josh and I performed. It was Halloween We dressed as: a cactus, the Tim Robinson character who gets made fun of in court for having a dumb hat, and Babe Ruth.

After that show, I performed in Schtick or Treat at the Lyric Hyperion Theater. In that show, comedians dress as other comedians and perform as them. I performed as Todd Barry.
I like Todd Barry very much. I used to be mistaken for him at the UCB Theater in NY. Todd and I are about the same height and age as well as bald. That’s enough to have you mistaken for each other in the alt-comedy circles of early 2000s New York.
To prepare for performing as Todd, I listened to his albums Medium Energy and Domestic Shorthair. I also watched some of his Crowd Work special, in which he does only crowd work and no prepared material.
I had three minutes. I did one actual Todd Barry joke, then tried to do crowd work as him. It was fun. Other comedians represented in the show: Richard Pryor, Theo Van, Carrot Top, Gallagher, Darth Vader and that guy who was racist at the Republican Convention last week.
James Adomian performed as Chad Damiani, who does a lot of clown routines in LA. I ran from the green room to watch James’ performance. He basically did a Chad routine without altering it and was funny in the exact way that Chad is funny.

Recently been on a Todd Barry kick after not hearing him for years.
